iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Camera Settings You Must Know About

With the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, Apple has finally managed to deliver an iPhone that challenges other flagship Android smartphones in the camera department. The new iPhones pack some significant camera enhancements and features. While most iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro users will already know about the new Night mode, there are a lot of other camera settings that you must know about.

As Apple has continued adding new camera features and settings to its Camera app, it has become a bit difficult to keep track of them all. This means most users will likely stay unaware of them. If you want to make the most out of your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro’s camera, check out five camera settings that must know about.
iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Camera Settings You Must Know About
5. Record 4K Videos and Auto Low-Light FPS

When Apple announced the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, it made a huge deal about the fact that one could record 4K videos@60fps from any of the two/three camera lenses of the phones. While quite a few other smartphones in the market offer a triple camera system, none of them allow users to record videos at 4k@60fps from all of them.

So it is puzzling to see the new iPhones still ship with 1080p as the default video recording resolution. To change the video recording resolution on your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro, go to Settings -> Camera -> Record Video. From here, select the 4K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps option. My recommendation would be to stick to recording 4K videos at 30fps since that way you will also be able to take advantage of the Auto Low-Light FPS option.

With this feature enabled, your iPhone will automatically reduce the frame rate from 30fps to 24fps to improve the video quality in low-light situations.

4. Capture Photos Outside of Frame

When you take a photo from the primary camera of your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro, it also simultaneously captures a photo from the ultra wide-angle camera when it deems it necessary. You don’t get to see the ultra-wide angle photo, but Apple stores it for 30 days and it can come in extremely handy when you want to readjust the framing of a photo.

When you use the crop, straighten, and perspective tools of the built-in photo editor, you will gain access to the ultra wide-angle photo which will then allow you to reframe the photo as you like. In some scenarios, your iPhone will automatically adjust a photo using content captured from the ultra wide-angle camera to improve it further. Such photos will have a blue Auto badge on their top-right corner.

This feature is also available for QuickTake videos. You can find the Capture Outside the Frame options under Settings -> Camera.

3. Deep Fusion

Ok, technically, this feature is not yet live, but it will be available for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro users once the iOS 13.2 update lands. Deep Fusion will significantly improve the amount of details captured in photos. However, it only works in lightning conditions where it is just bright enough for Night mode to not kick in. It also does not work in outdoor, extremely bright scenarios since Smart HDR kicks in then.

Deep Fusion is basically going to be useful while taking indoor photos where Night mode won’t work and Smart HDR is not going to be useful. The catch with Deep Fusion is that there’s no toggle to enable/disable it.

Another issue with Deep Fusion is that it will not work when the Capture Photos Outside of Frame option is enabled. You must disable the latter if you want Deep Fusion to work.
2. Change Aspect Ratio

This might seem silly to many but most creative folks would like to play around with different aspect ratios before taking a photo. It might seem like a small deal but it helps people with an artistic viewpoint. With more and more features being added to the camera app, the option to change the aspect ratio is now a bit difficult to find on the iPhone 11’s camera app.

Open the Camera app on your iPhone and tap the arrow located on the action bar at the top. This will reveal some buttons on the bottom action bar right above the shutter button. You should see a 4:3 icon, tap on it and select the aspect ratio of your choice.

1. Play Around with Night Mode

One of the key new camera features of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro is the new Night mode. It greatly helps improve the overall quality of photos taken in low-light scenarios. Depending on the lighting conditions, Night mode triggers itself automatically. However, do you know that you can customize some aspects of Night mode as well? Also Read:Instagram Password Cracker

By default, the Night mode on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro will automatically select the best exposure time depending on the scene. If you wish to, you can increase (or decrease) the exposure time to tweak the final image output. Also, don’t be envious of the Astrophotography mode found on the Google Pixel 4. Simply prop your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro on a tripod and the maximum exposure time will increase to 30s.

iPhone 11 Pre-Orders Up 480% in China

It looks like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro are off to a great start in China. On JD.com, the second-largest e-commerce website in China, more than 1 million units of iPhone 11 have been reserved since the pre-orders went live.

Compared to previous years, this was a 480% surge in iPhone orders. The Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro was the most popular followed by the iPhone 11 in black and purple colors. Despite its high price tag, the iPhone 11 Pro ran out of stock within five minutes. The iPhone 11 starts from 5699RMB in China while the iPhone 11 Pro starts at 8699RMB.

Within the first hour of the pre-order going live, orders for the new iPhones were placed from almost 341 cities across China. JD.com says that almost 59% of the customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro were between 16 and 29 years old.

Tmall, another popular e-commerce platform in China, received iPhone 11 pre-orders of more than 100 million yuan within a minute of pre-orders going live. Also Read:15 Exhentai proxy sites

Many Chinese analysts, however, say that strong interest in new iPhones is pretty common and that the iPhone 11 series might not surpass the sales of the iPhone XS by a huge margin in the region.
Our Take

Due to the ongoing US-China trade war, it was widely expected that the new iPhones will not do as well in China. However, the initial trend seems to reflect a different story but again, it is possible that this is just pent-up demand for the new iPhones. The real test will be once the initial demand subsides and Huawei has released its flagship Mate 30 series.

[Via MyDrivers]

Strong Demand for New iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Colors

Reputed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the consumer interest in new iPhones is higher than anticipated. He notes that consumers are showing a greater interest in the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro colors.

The Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro is attracting the most consumers, with many iPhone 11 customers preferring the new green and purple colors over the other four. In the United States, the iPhone 11 Pro has a higher demand than the iPhone 11 while in China, its the opposite. The slightly lower price tag and the inclusion of an ultra-wide angle camera on the latter are likely playing a role in this. Also Read:15 Exhentai proxy sites

The reputed analyst does note that due to production issues, the supply of the Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro is currently limited.

The strong initial demand for the new iPhones has led Kuo to raise his iPhone shipping estimate for 2019 to 70-75 million units, up from his original estimate of 65-70 million units. The strong demand has been boosted by various trade-in programs and 0% interest payment plans from retailers, Apple, and carriers. Also Read:h33t proxy

The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 went up for pre-order late last week. The availability of the Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro slipped by a couple of weeks in the United States after around 30 minutes of the pre-order going live.

The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro are both powered by Apple’s new A13 Bionic chip. They feature improved 4K video recording, a Night mode in the camera app, improved 12MP FaceTime camera, longer battery life, and more. The iPhone 11 Pro series also comes with an improved Super Retina XDR display, an 18W USB-C fast charger, and more.

How to install apps from outside the Google Play Store

The Google Play Store is the simplest and safest way to download apps onto your device. However, sometimes there are reasons to install apps from other sources, as is the case with Fortnite for Android for example. Or you may simply be looking for apps that can't be found on Google Play or your local version of it. Whatever the reason, if you can find the APK, you can install via sideloading. Read on to find out how.

Setting up your device

While there could be some slight variation in exactly where you'll find this setting on your Android phone, it's usually buried within the Security & privacy or App menus. These are the two most common paths:

Go to Settings.

Find the Security & privacy option and tap on it.

Scroll down and look for 'install from unknown apps'. If it's not there, try under 'more'.

You should be presented with a list of apps. Find your browser - Chrome, for example.

Tap on it and then select 'Allow from this source'.

If the above path doesn't work for you, try the following:

Head to Settings.

Go to Apps & notifications and then select configure apps.

Scroll down. Find and tap advanced options or special app access.

Scroll to the bottom of the special app access menu, where you can find the Install unknown apps option.

Find your browser, (e.g. Chrome), tap it and select Allow from this source.

If you still have trouble finding these options in settings, you can simply use the search option and type in 'unknown', which should save you some time.

By checking selecting 'allow from this source', you'll should now be able to install APK files downloaded from your browser. You can always go back to the settings menu and disallow this, after you're done installing your APKs of choice. Keep in mind that there can be additional security prompts or prompts to allow installation of files from unknown sources on some devices or older versions of Android. Also Read:Top 25 Best Netflix Cookies for You to Use Netflix for Free 2019

On devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or earlier, try the following path: Settings>Security>allow installation from unknown sources.

This will enable you to install apps downloaded from any source outside of the Google Play Store. Allowing this kind of blanket access can be risky, so if you want to do this, it's a good idea to head back into settings and toggle off the unknown sources option once you've gotten the app you wanted.
What are the risks of sideloading?

There's a reason that installing APKs from unknown sources is switched off by default in Android: it's inherently unsafe to download random APKs from the web and install them on your phone. While that might seem contradictory with providing a guide on how to install from outside Google Play, as long as you know (and trust) where your apps are coming from.

What is an APK file and how do I use one?

Download looks dodgy? Use one of these antivirus and security apps

The efficacy of anti-virus has long been up for debate, but if you do think they're worthwhile on an Android device, they'll often scan apps before you install them, providing another potential line of defense.

By leaving the installation of all unknown apps on by default, you're opening the door for any malware-infected or malicious apps to silently download other nefarious software silently in the background. If you disallow by default and only allow on a case-by-case basis, there's a much smaller risk of this.
Downloading and installing an APK

By now, you know that where you download your APK from is key. Let's take a simple example like downloading and installing WhatsApp from outside the Play Store.

In this case, WhatsApp provides its own direct download page that you can either visit on a desktop and then transfer the file to your phone, or visit on your phone browser (requesting the desktop site from your browser settings) and then download it directly to your device.

Once downloaded, you can check out your Downloads in the app drawer and select the downloaded APK file. Clicking on that will start the install process, and if required, will ask you to allow the app permissions to continue.

If you want to install Fortnite on your Android smartphone, you can follow our guide here.

Sideloading an APK from a PC

If for some reason you have trouble downloading an APK directly to your Android, you can also download the file to your PC, then connect your phone to the PC via cable (select Transfer Files) and copy the APK into your phone. This requires a dedicated file explorer app to access the APK. You will also need to grant the File Explorer permission to install from unknown sources.

Choose your app from our recommended Android file managers

Many apps can't be downloaded directly from the company that makes them, however. In this instance, you'll want to check out one of the more trusted app repositories like APKMirror. From there you can download manually vetted apps that use the same digital signatures as the apps on Google Play.
Where to get an APK?

If you can't find what you're looking for on the Play Store or APKmirror, there are some alternative app repositories out there. We've taken a look at the most important ones in this article.

You still get to see the list of permissions before installing. / © AndroidPIT
What you can use sideloading for

Many impatient Android users first discovered sideloading thanks to Pokémon Go and Niantic's choice to release the game in waves to different countries. However, the recent decision of Epic Games to bypass Google Play and offer Fortnite to players directly through their website, is likely to make other developers follow suit. The 30% revenue cut that Google takes from apps/games on their store is quite significant.

We think you should expect more apps requiring sideloading in the future. For the retro gamers among you, sideloading is also the best source of discovering emulators that Nintendo and Sony have purged from Google Play.
