While many audiophiles don’t dig digital, Astell & Kern have always approached lossless with the idea that with the right tech – and the right amount of money – digital can be done right.
The new Astell & Kern AK500N hi-fi network system is their attempt at combining everything the digital audiophile needs: a DLNA network server, stereo amplifier, room for four SSD drives up to 1TB per slot and CD ripping to WAV or FLAC. All this for just £8,999 (US $14,000).
The unit is made of aluminium and has a built-in battery to eliminate interference noise from the AC power supply unit.
The AK500N is out this month.
