Lumia Denim update arrives in India

New Delhi: Microsoft has said that the wider roll out of Lumia Denim update for Windows Phone 8.1 across the globe will begin from January 2015. 

Denim was announced in September this year and has started to arrive in China this week. According to the company, the update will bring a faster and more intuitive Lumia Camera app, which will shorten the time needed between shots.

The new update made its way to India too, where it's hitting the Lumia 520 and Lumia 525 units. In Europe, around 30 countries already have at least one Lumia model getting the new software.

There will also be a new 'Moment Capture' feature which will allow users to simply hold down the camera button to instantly start recording 24fps 4K video, while still enabling individual frames to be saved at 8.3-megapixels.

Denim will combine apps into folders, merge messages for forwarding and replies in the messages app and improvements such as a Store Live Tile and a consumer VPN function. 

This release comes with an enhanced Ccmera app, improved glance screen, and "Hey Cortana!" voice activation.

After Xiaomi, OnePlus forced to suspend sales in India

Washington: Following a ban on Xiaomi, OnePlus is the latest smartphone upstart to be forced to suspend sales in India.

The company confirmed that it will stop selling its One smartphone in the country after a New Delhi court upheld a complaint by rival Micromax, reported Tech Crunch.

After Micromax nabbed an exclusive deal with Cyanogen in India for Yu , its new Android range, it objected to the sale of OnePlus smartphones that also make use of the Cyanogen Android operating system for powering its phones in all countries except China.

OnePlus will now be allowed to sell its existing stock in India but afterwards, it will only sell compliant devices.

OnePlus learnt about the Cyanogen- Micromax deal less than a week before it launched its own phones in India. Co-founder Carl Pei said that the company was working on its own version of android that will replace Cyanogen and will be rolled out next year.

Moto X 32 GB variant launched in India for Rs. 32999

Almost three months after the 16 GB variant of the new Moto X was launched in India, Motorola has now launched the 32 GB variant.

Motorola has released the 32 GB variant of the new Moto X. the handset is priced at Rs. 32999. Interestingly, the price of the 16 GB version is slashed to Rs. 29999. The device has a 5.2 inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the quad core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz along with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

OnePlus launching 10000 mAh Power Bank for $15

While the Xiaomi Powerbank is doing well in the market, OnePlus, which has recently forayed into the Indian market, has now working on a 10000 mAh Power Bank.

OnePlus has revealed that the company would unveil a 10000 mAh power bank in 2015. Interestingly, the power bank is said to retail for just $15. The power bank can be used to charge smartphone, tablet, and other USB powered devices. The device requires 5.5 hours to be fully charges and has short-circuit, overcharging and overheating protection.

The OnePlus 10000 mAh Power Bank would come with dual USB port with individual output of 2A at 5V. The Power Bank would come in Silk White and Sandstone Black. The power bank is said to weigh in at just 220 grams.

Samsung announces to discontinue its ChatON messaging service

It’s not easy to survive in the space of mobile messaging apps, as there are big players in the industry that will not let anyone to capture the market share of mobile messaging.

It really has proved, because a major technology player, Samsung has decided to discontinue its ChatON messaging service. According to a report from Engadget, Samsung will shut down its ChatON messaging service in all regions except the US from February 1.

A statement issued by Samsung to Engadget states, “On February 1, 2015, ChatON will be discontinued in all markets except the United States, as we strive to meet evolving consumer needs by focusing on our core services.

We remain committed to offering services that cater to our consumers’ lifestyles and add value to their everyday lives.” Despite being a Samsung product, and preloaded on all Samsung Galaxy smartphones, the ChatON messaging app failed to create its position among users.

The company claimed that in 2013 the ChatON app had 100 million users worldwide, but the thing that matters is, how many active users are there who actually uses the app.

But now it’s worthless to talk about the reasons, the final decision is, the ChatON messaging app will be shut down.
